Regeneration

The City of Preston is undergoing a period of major change and investment as it positions itself as the 3rd City of the Northwest by 2012.

This vision is underpinned by a number of transformation projects the most exciting of which is the £700m Preston Tithebarn redevelopment of Preston City Centre, covering some thirty acres and regenerating the city centre with new shops, homes, offices, revitalised markets and a new bus station.

Other examples of Preston's commitment to regeneration include the recently completed Frenchwood project improving life for the residents by introducing traffic calming measures, repairs to local homes and improved community facilities; the exciting Winckley Square project which when completed will entirely rejuvenate an iconic area of Preston, and the Central Business District that will provide new, high quality office space to meet the requirements of both new and existing businesses.

Projects such as these will support the growth of the city and its economy to ensure it continues to perform above national and regional averages.
